My Halloween Movie of the Day: Day 22

31. Cemetery Man - Another strange zombie movie (I'm really starting to think I should have varied my choices a little more at the start of this project), this time about a man tasked with keeping a cemetery free from zombies in a town where seemingly nobody, least of all his assistant, can let go of the people they loved once they're dead. Or that's what his job starts out as, anyway... It changes a bit once he gets a visit from Death itself. Likewise, the movie starts off as a seemingly standard zombie movie, then takes a turn into the surreal. Ultimately, I think it's meant to be about accepting death, but it's hard to say anything for sure about it one way or the other. Whatever exactly it's trying to say, it is an entertaining movie, with some lovely cinematography and bizarre dark humor, but, like with Night of the Comet, you shouldn't go into it expecting anything like an average zombie movie, though there is a little actual flesh-biting here and there, which makes it better than Night of the Comet in that regard.
